On Saturday, Sept. 17th, several members of the chapter, along with Seth's
son Riley, repaired a deflector device at Lorimar Park. While several
members moved rocks in the creek to the deflector, the rest of us helped
to rebuild the device with rocks that were placed nearby by the park's
rangers. We succeeded in reconstructing the deflector device despite a
shortage of rocks, allowing it to be a shorter than normal work day.
Normally there would have been more rocks, however, the park was hit hard
by the two storms, Irene and Lee, causing the park's workers to
concentrate on damage control. Though a short day, meeting with other
members of the chapter is always enjoyable as is the feeling of
accomplishment of repairing our wetlands.
