On Sunday, April 11, 2010 the Abington Environmental Advisory Counsel held an
Earth Day event at Alverthorpe park in Jenkintown. There were scouts policing
the area, removing what trash there was. Our chapter was honored by the AEC as
they planted a silver maple in recognizing for all the stream work that we've
performed over the years in Abington, especially at Lorimar park. It was an honor to
be chosen by the AEC and comforting to know that all of our hard work does not
go unnoticed.Al
