TU Minutes - June 8, 2010
Meeting was called to order by Rich Terry, President. The minutes from May meeting were read and approved. Joe Pitonak, treasurer gave
his report. We have a current balance of $2546.00. His report was approved.
Mike Wilson reported on two grants for trees and a sign. We need to verify what is owed for the wetlands at Blair Mill Elementary School.
Money is still to be sent to the chapter for expenses incurred.
Rich Terry gave a report on the Penn's Creek weekend. It was good fishing at the beginning but had to work hard for the trout later on.
New mattresses will be in place next year.
Rich also gave a report on the Fox Chase Farm. Rich and Den Mora attended and there were four other members who helped out at the
Klondike Pond. Kids were very into examining and hearing about the insects. Those in attendance were grateful for our members' help.
Mike Wilson spoke about the trip out west for TU members. He was told there would possibly be low waters in some areas, but said that won't be
a problem since areas to fish can be picked out once we're out there.
Mike Mulray reported that Saturday, June 12th will be a work day from 8 a.m. to noon. It will be tree planting, saving what we can and
Denis Mora reported on "Trout in the Classroom". He will be attending some training and provide feedback to the chapter.
Rich Terry reminded everyone that Tuesday, July 6th will be the second annual Teaching Kids to Fish program. He said last year kids had a good
time. There will be a sign up sheet for those interested in helping out.
Rich reported that fishing on the Pennypack is good but the water is low.
The meeting ended and Ray Miller from River Sage Outfitters, guest speaker, was given the floor.
