TU Minutes - December 14, 2010
Rich Terry called the meeting to order at 7:30. Minutes from the previous
meeting were read and approved. There was no financial
report. Mike Wilson reported that he had spent some money for gifts for the
banquet.
Since Charlie Morton had passed away, Rich asked if anyone would like to say
a few words about Charlie. Denis Mora said some nice things
and noted that Charlie will be missed by our group. Mike Wilson noted that
Charlie had a great spirit and that our chapter should try to keep
Charlie's spirit alive. John Jungers also added a few nice things about
Charlie. Rich at that point asked that we have a moment of silence
for Charlie.
Rich said that tonight's speaker would be Frank Plucinski who would do a
power point presentation called "Reflections of a Fisherman".
Denis Mora reported on the Trout in the Classroom project. He said that the
fish have been released into tanks and are looking good. The
kids at the high school are talking about putting everything on a website that
they would create.
At this point, a guest arrived. It was Santa. He gave everyone a little
something and wished us all al Merry Christmas.
It was reported that the polar bear outing to the Little Lehigh will need to
be altered. We will meet at the Trust parking lot on January 15. We will
carpool up to the Little Lehigh, fish for a couple of hours and go out nearby to
have lunch as a group and return home.
Mike Wilson put out a call list for anyone not having email so that they
could be reached by phone if need be. Mike asked that everyone
make donations of flies for the show at Valley Forge on March 5-6. We will give
one fly to everyone who buys a raffle ticket.
John Jungers mentioned that on January 18th the Mainline Fly Tyers will have
Joe Cummings, who is well known, as their speaker. They are
asking if anyone in our chapter would like to join them at 7 p.m.
John Jungers reported that two weeks ago he had fished the Pennypack and had
some success.
Rich adjourned the meeting and said that after a break, Frank would do his
presentation.
Respectfully submitted.
