Minutes - October 11, 2011
In Rich's absence, Al called the meeting to order. The minutes
from the previous meeting were read and approved. There was no
financial report.
Mike Wilson reported that the next work day was scheduled for the
Thompson's but there is a need to do some work at Lorimar Park.
It was decided that the board needs to meet and set a budget to buy
some trees. Because of flooding and deer, the shrubs at Lorimar Park
are pretty much gone. We need to invest in trees the deer won't eat and
also purchase some willow stakes.
The fly show in Lancaster will be some time in February. There
will be more information concerning this at a later date.
A November trip to the Salmon River for steelhead will take place on the
11th and 12th. Mike needs to know who is going.
Mike is putting out a signup sheet for next year's trip to Alaska. He is
looking at two possible locations. The dates will be September 15-22.
Mike also reported that in the Pennypack some former nice holes are
pretty much gone. Actually have sandbar out of the water and there is
silt everywhere.
Tom Franklin asked about changing the time from Saturday to some hours
during the week to accommodate the guys who can't make the
Saturday work days. Mike says the guys could work on their own during the
week. A plan will be looked at for this for next year.
Denis Mora reported that Trout in the Classroom is awaiting the eggs to
be delivered in November to the two schools. Since we have two
tanks in place there will be no expense this year.
Lorimar Park will be stocked October 13.
Al reported that a Fly tying symposium will be held in Somerset, N.J.
November 19 and 20, 2011.
The business meeting ended and Al introduced our guest speaker.
Respectfully submitted,
