TU Minutes from Meeting of 1/12/10
Al Kahoun, acting in place of Rich Terry, called the meeting to order. The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved. The
treasurer's report was read and approved. As of January 12th, the chapter has a balance of $ 7,862.52. The polar bear outing will be
Saturday. Everyone interested should meet at the Trust at 10:00 a.m We were told another group will be there. Chili will be served. Need
you to sign up.
The Somerset fly fishing show will be held on Saturday, January 23rd. A sign up sheet will be available. Fly tying classes will be held on
Mondays in January and February. Sam Shields will teach for 4 weeks and Dick McKinny for 2 weeks. George of Frank's Fly Fishing Shop where the classes are held said materials will be available.
Mike Wilson reported that the date has been set for the Blair Mill Elementary School Watershed Day. It will be held on Saturday, May 1.
Work will be done on the wetlands that was created. Shrubs and bushes will be placed. There will also be 80 trees which will be planted by
parents of the children. During the day the kids will collect insects from the stream in order to learn how clean their stream is. There will
be a rain barrel workshop and a rain garden demonstration.
In order to avoid the confusion of last year, the Rotary fishing day will be held the week before the Watershed Day on April 24th. Mike also
reported that the Thompsons are looking for us to repair the trees that have been damaged by deer and weather on their property. These are
trees that we previously planted.
Banquet tickets and chances are to be picked up tonight. Check off your name on the list.
Since the speaker could not make it tonight, there will be a round table discussion following the break.
