468 Minutes of January 14, 2014
Rich called the meeting to order. The minutes from the previous meeting were dispensed with. Rich read the Financial Report. We have a balance of $3,466.00. The report was approved.
Members were reminded that our next meeting (February) will be our annual members flea market.
Rich reminded everyone that Saturday, January 18, 2014 will be our annual Polar Bear Fishing trip. We'll meet at 10:00 a.m. on Creek Rd
off Terwood. The plan is to fish for a couple of hours and go have lunch together.
Fly tying class will be held at the nature center every Tuesday (except meeting night ) at 7:30. Come out and tie some flies - we could
use them at the fly show.
The chapter annual banquet will be held on March 26, 2014 at the Moose Hall. The 3 top prizes will be: Fish Cat 9 Pontoon boat; a mini-ipad and a rod and reel.
The Lancaster Fly Show is the 1st weekend in March - volunteers are needed.
The Colorado trip is August 15-24. Mike Wilson will be buying tickets this week for those signed up.
The Somerset Fly Show is January 24-26.
Denis Mora reported that our chapter is sponsoring a day at the Pennypack Environmental Center on Veree Road on March 8 from 9 to 3.
This will include demonstrations of fly tying and different ways to catch trout. There is a need for volunteers.
The business meeting was adjourned. After a short break, Greg Cavallo was introduced as our guest speaker. Greg is a geologist with
the Delaware River Basin Commission. His presentation was on PCB levels in all our local streams. He talked about how the Pennypack affects the Delaware.
